Episode 4: The Third Archetype
from The Aphrodite Project Hosted by Ancient myths, modern relationships.
In this episode, Aphrodite introduces her third archetype: Nerites, a former lover known for his beauty, distance, and refusal to follow her onto land. In the present day, he’s “Nick,” a charming but emotionally removed man who avoids intimacy under the guise of freedom. Set at the Met Cloisters and a Manhattan hotel, this episode asks what happens when love crosses boundaries, and whether being wanted is ever the same as being cared for. Content note: This episode includes emotionally intense themes, including boundary crossing, sex, and non-consensual dynamics. Please take care while listening. Performers: Natasha Rene Jimenez as Aphrodite Robert den Dekker as Nerites Nemo as The Poet Created by Nemo Special Thanks: Natasha, Sasha, my parents, the talented actors without whom this project would simply not exist (I am so excited to introduce you to the entire cast aaaah!!)
