In this episode we are going to share some recent trainings and events we attended in October that pushed us to think about our relationship with adversity and to challenge our current set of beliefs on what it is to lead and build a brand.What are the takeaways from our October Travels?•        UWM Leadership Training: Looking at personal and professional goals and developing a W.I.N. (What’s Important Now?) strategy. We will touch on transparency, consistency and Identity•         Kind VIBE event in LA: Motivational speakers: Glenn Stearns, Grant Cardone, Manny Khoshbin, John Elway and Captain Charlie Plumb•         Speakers from Vibe Event: work ethic, determination, morning routine•         Captain Charlie Plumb: POW, spoke to how we are all, in our own way, in a prison (his was 8x8 cell). How do we chose to face adversity?•         Club 33!UWM Leadership TrainingWhat did we learn?•        It is important to define personal and professional goals. Those goals need to be built around WIN (What’s Important Now?)•        Always be investing in your team and develop a game plan to hit those goals. if you are not doing something daily that funnels up to your goals you are wasting time•        Investing time - daily activity that produces resultsTransparency and Consistency•        Transparency allows everyone to know where everyone else stands. it creates accountability.•        Transparency helps us focus on what we need to go to hit our personal and collective goals•        Consistency: Nothing else matters if there is no consistency. How you govern is how you lead. It is important to set a good example. Consistency in messaging, identity, office culture and transparency will allow you team to be great Identity•        It is important to define who you are. We strive to project positivity, work ethic, attitude, and structure•        A standard needs to be created: Show up early, do more to improve in down times: training, building, scaling•        Don’t sacrifice integrity of your standard•        One question that drives us: What does our perfect day look like? (Calls, social media, podcast, training, client connections, helping referral partners get better). We are striving to define our perfect day and hit that every single dayKind Lending VIBE Event Speakers were Amazing•        Manny Khosbin: persistence wears down resistence. The more you know the more you Grow. Work out or exercise: Strong body supports strong mind•        Grant Cardone: Your brand needs to be everywhere so you can build a huge database. It is all a numbers game. For our realtor partners - we can help you with this•        Glenn Stearns: focus on being better listeners, showing more compassion and leading with kindness. If you focus on serving others, you will find joy in what you do•        John Elway: All about hard work and determination. After every failure, he chose to learn from it and get betterCaptain Charlie Plumb•        8x8 cell 2103 days in Vietnam POW Camp•        Felt sorry for himself until he was challenged by another POW to not waste the opportunity adversity presents•        8" between your ear is your biggest challenge to overcome (mindset/perception)•        Adversity is a horrible thing to waste - adversity gives us an opportunity for growth•        He used that opportunity to give people vision and purpose (prison leadership)•        Step back and be the victim or step forward and become the victorDisneyland and Club 33Post conference invite to Secret Club•        Talk about Club 33 - secret club inside of Disneyland where memberships cost around $80,000 to join and $20,000 per year.•        What did you like about it?  Club 33 had a 1920's speakeasy vibe and incredible food and atmosphere - once in a lifetime experience•        What are some fun things we learned? There are crazy Disney collectors that go nuts over Club 33 swag.•        Disneyland was fun.  To be fully formed adult males and being able to be a little kid again and bond with new people who are now our friends was an amazing experience.Final thoughtsWe are in some challenging times for sure. If you can learn to master the 8" between your ears, the external environment shouldn’t matter. Lead with consistency, transparency and constantly strive for a perfect day and you can end up stepping forward in these challenging times to become the victor.
