When will you take the descent to soul? The 40th episode of the #earthconversepodcast is with (my rockstar equivalent!) visionary eco-psychologist Bill Plotkin. Bill is a soul initiation guide and “agent of death’, and founder of Animas Valley Institute. For over 40 years he has accompanied thousands of people to take the descent to soul, to discover and embody their ecological niche. And thanks to an invitation from his publisher New World Library, he is here to talk about his latest enlightening book The Journey of Soul Initiation: A Field Guide for Visionaries, Evolutionaries, and Revolutionaries. A detailed map and set of practices for the journey, never been conceptualized and articulated in this way before. In our conversation as with the book, rich with metaphor and rigor, he weaves the analogy of the butterfly and moth, the metaphor of ‘Soul Canyon’ and his own story. And gives us a feel of what people actually experience, bringing in stories of Carl Jung, Joanna Macy and lesser known courageous souls. In doing so, coaxing, urging us to engage with Mystery, to take the journey and truly love and serve the world.
