So, awhile back I had the opportunity to interview one of my favorite childhood comedians, Gallagher. Sure, his “Sledge-O-Matic” routine was sure to appeal to a 12 year old boy, but it appeals to adults too. One bit I remembered was his observations on the inconsistencies of the English language. I marveled at his ability to string them into a story that made you laugh. Prior to my interview he asked me to record a series of poems he had written. To watch him perform them was a real treat. To record them, an honor. To follow their meaning was an opportunity to appreciate the work of an amazingly clever and creative person. I share one at the end of this episode.
