In a bowl, toss with a few shakes of Rice wine vinegar and a little salt and white pepper (not black pepper). White pepper is more subtle. Mix occasionally.Peel the oranges and slice in thin rounds. Arrange on a platter.After a while, sprinkle just a little sea salt on the oranges.Mix the onions again to extract the sharpness and water from the onion. Needs to pickle and soften the onions for at least 30 minutes. When the onions are ready, sprinkle over the oranges, omitting the liquid. Top with a generous handful of thinly sliced basil leaves.
