I'm talking about the block and started. Hello everyone and welcome to the fix of life. This is episode 400. According to July 28th, 2026, my name is Zach Anderson.

And this week we are starting some new beginnings. We've got a new format, a new way of doing things, new discussions, new segments, all the fun stuff. Good to do this. I have with me as always, Shannon, getting me out of here more.

Good bye. Yep, and with the 400th episode, I feel we should do things a little different. So now I'm heading towards my vacation. And if I was car, it would just be the frame with some wheels, no brakes on fire, just perreaning towards that goal line, hoping I get there.

All gas, no brakes. Yeah. Also joining us, Justin, it's better to ask for forgiveness card. It's your point.

Guys, episode 400 is so excited. You've done it. Your boy was in California this past weekend, you know, in San Diego, the Comic Con. And let me tell you what, it was a rude awakening coming back to Arizona.

And it was, you know, 90 the entire time I was in California. And it was 116 when I came to Arizona, like 1030 at night. And yeah, my body got like the shakes, you know, when you think I'm like sweating ahead, sweat California out of me and stuff, because it was humid, sucks. Well, you know, the thing, the thing with San Diego, like I, I'm a California guy, been in California my entire life, Bay Area, California specifically, which I consider maybe the best place in the country.

I'm sorry, it's just, Aquilent weather, stuff to do, all the stuff, right? The one place, the one place you could, I would listen to the argument that is better is San Diego. San Diego is unbelievable of a town. And you got the nice beach, the food's amazing, the layout of the town is awesome.

You got, you know, gaslight district and the downtown and the ballpark and all that fun stuff. So I can only imagine going from San Diego to Phoenix in late July had to be tough. Oh yeah. And of course, you know, the real kicker was when we were about two and a half hours from home in Yuma, the air conditioner in the car started to not want to blow cold air anymore.

They don't really blow it all. So it was just hot. And the car was almost cooler outside than in the car type of situation. And so I was like, you know, usually I sleep in the car.

And so I was kind of asleep and I woke up all sweaty. And I'm like, oh man, it's just gross in the car. And then of course I got home and I felt gross. I'm just like, I'm just gonna leave all this shit here and deal with it in the morning type of situation.

That is tough. That is tough. No, that's not to make you go in a car with like all of that San Diego Comic Con funk still on you, like just marinating in the heat. Oh yeah, dude, you know your boy was mad washing his hands and slapping fucking germ, germ anti-germ juice all over my hands.

I don't know what you want to tell you what, I do not want to get every time after Comic Con, you know, something to get sick, you get the bug, whatever, I was like, nope, I do not want to get that after Colin sickness. So I was very cautious with that. So that's why his cosplay outfit was a full neck suit. So I kept everyone away from him.

I thought you just was going to reenact the Jake Gillan Hall bubble boy costume. It's a good cosplay also. No, I do the dude from Grandma's boy and then press myself up against the wall and say, yeah, what did you expect? So did you catch any panels?

Did you do any cool stuff? I didn't catch any panels. I was helping run boss battle up in the mezzanine, the board game room. But I did have time.

I mainly worked in the afternoon. So I had the mornings to walk around and do whatever. I did be across from Comic Con at the hotel. They had to have been stuff going on that you didn't necessarily need to be a Comic Con person to do.

But they had downstairs where across the way where they normally play magic, they had a Star Trek, magic the gathering thing going on where you waited in line. And then when you got to the front, it was the captain's chair, but it was built entirely out of Legos. And they take your picture in it and then you walk around behind it and they had cut out of one of the new Star Trek magic cards, but you get to stand in the middle of it and do your little live-long and prosper, whatever type of pose you want to do. And then when you come out, they give you a Captain Kirk Star Trek promo card.

And so you know your boy did that Thursday morning. I did that Friday morning. I did that Saturday morning. I would have Sunday, but I got there late Sunday because I also played this golf Sunday morning.

So I did not get to do it all four days, but I got three copies of that card. So I got a question for you. Was it when you were there in line? Was it awkward seeing Shannon's dad, their crime?

The beauty of it? The Shannon's dad was like, dude, this is my sixth time through. And he's flashing me and I was like, dude, I come here and I'm just running this shit all day if they let me. Man, I showed him the pictures.

He posted them on Facebook. And the first question he had for me was, does it still stink there? Like, if you wanted to know if the Comic Con Stench was still a thing. And his second question was magic or a bunch of cock teases because I'd be breaking that glass to get those sets.

Oh, yes, yes. On the show floor, they did have, at the actual Hasbro booth, they had a case that was filled with all the Star Trek like commander stuff and whatever that you could get, which is actually how I found out about the Star Trek thing when I went to the Hasbro booth and they were like, yeah, if you go to the hotel, there's a promo captain person you get, I was like, tell me more. There was also supposedly a couple other promo cards. I know Loki, there was a special promo Loki one, but I saw the line every day for that one.

And I was like, I'm not doing that. And it was fully outside where the other one was in the hotel. And it's not like, no, I'm not weighing two hours out of the sun for a card that I already have two copies of. It's just slightly different art.

I don't feel like I'm going to be in here with a real nerds, getting the Star Trek on. Yeah, I'm like, Star Trek doesn't come out until November. So I'm getting this shit early. I'm going to spawn these and buy a box with these cards that I'm going to sell the second I leave here.

I was going to scout this shit out of them. I was going to say, Justin, what's the price of that card right now? I heard, I haven't looked it up, but I heard at the time at Comic Con that people were posting on eBay for like 40 bucks. Not that I would sell it.

I got one for me, one for Megan, and then one for my friend for helping babysitting Megan while I was gone. Because she does not do good when she's home alone. But I got some other cool stuff too. The literal first thing we went to preview night at Comic Con, which is essentially just normal Comic Con, but they only give you the tickets to preview night if you got a four day pass or since we were vendors there or whatever, we had the entire pass or whatever.

So it's not as busy. So usually and since we're not working on that Wednesday, that's the perfect time to actually get to walk around the con and get to see a bunch of stuff. And so immediately as soon as it opened, I belined it to the Tamagotchi line, which I had to wait about an hour in. But your boy got a 30th anniversary edition of, it's like the OG Tamagotchi in the staircase, but it's in the school, fold out box and stuff, it's super neat.

And they had two nanoblock Tamagotchi things. And I got those as well. I also, one of my favorite things I got was Scott Pilgrim had anniversary shirts. And I got a the Demon Head, Clash of Demon Head band t-shirt and stuff for the anniversary for that.

Nice. So what's the, what was the eyes popping out of your head, Cosplay? Who did the coolest stuff? Dude, this year, so like every year, there's always like your, there's a million of these in Comic Con.

Usually it's your Harley Quinns, your Deadpools. Sure. This year, Dungeon Carollor Carl was the Harley Quinn of Comic, I saw a million Dungeon Carollor Carl costumes. It was insane.

One of the coolest costumes I think I saw though, was this woman was dressed up as the mom from Panyo, like the jellyfish mom. And she had the umbrella and there was like a little Panyo on top and it had like the jellyfish, like strand stuff and she had like a huge crazy dress. Like it went all out. Nice.

So I thought that was super safe. So how in relation to Epicon, like you have all the panels in like Hall H and all those places, like how far away were you from the bedlam of the space balls, you know, panel and stuff like that? So Hall H is at the very end of the convention center where we were in essentially section C of Comic Con on the second floor. Okay.

But no, there was a lot of Hall H stuff going on. The doomsday stuff was really cool. I didn't get to see it in person, but of course people filmed the new Elite trailer and stuff like that. And you know, it's so hard.

Like I have faith in it. I'm hoping it's really good. My biggest concerns though is just like, why is it Robert Downey Jr. is doomed?

Like I don't really know what they're doing with that. But Doom looked cool. They revealed his like full suit at Comic Con. And I did get to see that up close in person with all the rooms and stuff in it.

Like it is definitely the most doom looking fit. It looked really cool. Yeah. I'm pretty excited about reading about what they announced.

You know, I think of a smart too. I mean, they didn't recast Tecella, but in all the 10s of purposes they did by just being like, it's Tecella, his nephew. Also named Tecella. Okay.

I see what you're doing. But very smart to just do that. And you know, it goes right. Gosson Ghost Rider, Shannon.

What are your thoughts? Ken being Ghost Rider. I have mixed emotions about it. Mm-hmm.

I don't know. I don't, I mean, I've seen him in the movie drive. Like he can play the stoic, like, you know, hard ass. But I don't know.

Like I want a little less, like, I mean, I don't know. I just, I'm conflicted, I guess. I think, I think he can do, I mean, if, if everything I'm reading, they're gonna, he's gonna be Johnny Blaze. That version of Ghost Rider.

And, you know, if they lean into that character, he is kind of like a wise cracking type dude. That is a hard ass when he needs to be. But like, that's not his default setting. Like he's not Peter Parker just clipping back and forth.

Blah, blah, blah. But he's kind of like a over-inish type character. There's a little dry humor there. There's a little wit in back and forth.

And then he can, you know, send you to hell if he needs to. But I hope they lean into that. Cause I think, I think also can do that. Well, I mean, he was great in Project Hail Mary.

He had a lot of, you know, I think there was a lot of good like one liners and, and like quick wit there. Like which shows that he had, he's capable of that. It's just, it's just a balance between the two. I don't think he transitions well between that.

Like hard ass to like, you know, funny guy. Like I think he's one or the other. And I think you need somebody who can transition and swing between those like a little bit more fluidly. So we- It's probably gonna, okay, sorry.

I was just saying, look, we all know though, he can rock a mean jacket. And that's why he got casted. They're like, we need a guy who can rock a mean leather jacket. I mean, not wrong, you know.

I think that movie's gonna depend a lot on who else is in that movie. Cause Ghost Rider itself by itself is not the most in a medic of characters. I think a good supporting cast is gonna be necessary to make that a real banger of the movie. I mean, I'm really trying to think like, who the villain would be for him.

Like, I mean, I liked Ghost Rider as a character. I always thought he was badass, but like I never really paid attention to his arc. So I don't really know who his villains are. Like who his like main arch villains are?

Dustin, we get to say it. We get to say it, are you ready? Yeah. Mephisto.

Yeah. I got excited. I got excited. I jumped the gun.

It was like, I know as soon as she ends, like we don't get out, it's gonna be the time. It's the time, it's gonna be up. No, I will say, I will say now that Doom has entered the MCU. You know, Mephisto has Doom's mother's soul.

That's one of his main reasons why he became the arcane sorcerer that he did is to try to free his mom. And if Mephisto is in play, that kind of, and now you got Ghost Rider, you know, there's Blackheart, who's also part of that realm, Lucifer, you've got Lilith, you know, there's all the Midnight Sons villains that kind of come out of that. So I've got bad people. They have characters they can lean on.

Yeah. I mean, you already pretty much have like most of the Midnight Sons. I mean, if you're going with like Spider-Man and Wolverine, and I mean, you could roll magic in there, real easy. Oh yeah, no, there's mutants for sure.

So, you know, it's possible. So some cool stories come out of that. I can see it. I can see it.

But yeah, I was excited about that. I'm down for some Ghost Rider. I'm excited to go see Spider-Man this weekend. They kind of got me again.

I'm in, like, I'm ready. You know what it is? I think I've just, it's finally, I feel like we're finally ready to like move on and get back to the fun stuff. It's like we've been lost in the wilderness with comic book properties for a long time.

And it feels like we've got a property Spider-Man. We've got a big Avengers movie coming with a real bad ass villain that isn't going anywhere. Like, I feel like the tide is turning our way. You just said a new Spider-Man movie coming and a new Avengers movie.

What year is it? Tension me. Yeah. But Robert Downey Jr.

only signed a two movie contract for Doom. So, you know, you got him for one more movie after this one. Sure. And, you know, this Spider-Man, I think, is gonna be, I hope not, but like, I'm hoping they're not gonna do like the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 on us and like make this like the most dower Spider-Man movie we have out of the three.

So, My guess is that's how it starts. It starts way low. And I'm hoping it ends high. That's my hope, anyway.

I mean, Ned's got to be what, the Hobgoblin by the time this. Yeah, I mean, that's in the comic books, that's who he is. So. But he was brainwashed, right?

Like he wasn't really like the full villain. He was just kind of a pawn, right? Yeah, but then he ends up becoming possessed and he's like actual demon at some point. The McFarland Hobgoblin run with also Involve's Ghost Rider.

So, hey, there's, you know, there. But yeah, like the glider Ned rides in that run is like actually made out of fire and is like a full demon. Like that's a, that's a rad. You can't get back out of hell.

These fucking round modes. Yeah, yeah. So I'm curious. I mean, maybe he does get brainwashed.

We still don't know who the villain is in this movie, necessarily. True. So. Do you think Deadpool shows up in Doomsday?

I do, I do. I think this is, there's a lot of red herrings that like, you know, Ryan Reynolds shows up on the floor in the great Deadpool of it. And it's like, you know, hey, so got a big movie going on guys. I think it's a lot of red herring.

I think it gets, even if it's just a quick cameo. Yeah, I could see to him just like dying in this like, like he shows up and all just blows him away. And you're like, oh, never mind. You just see his mask fly across the screen in the expo.

No. Oh man. But yeah, I mean, I think it was a good panel for Comic-Con. You know, I mean, not to say that there have been does, but like, you know, there have been ones that have been less enthusiastic than others.

I think this was a good showing. You know, it's just sad that it was so marble heavy. I would like to see other things coming out that weren't. Well, got bad news for you, man.

Have you checked Supergirl? Box office, does. Cause whoo, I think the gun jammed a little bit. Dude, that's not a New York Times headline that I don't know what it is.

I mean, I knew it was a problem when I saw it on Apple TV to be like, yeah, you can get this now guys. You can rent this now guys. You want to rent this? It's like all over my feed.

I wonder what actually is the bigger flop Supergirl or live action Moana. Cause man, both of those tanked just straight out of the gate, just sunk like lead balloons. I was like, I didn't even realize live action Moana came out. I only know that cause my daughter went and saw it last week.

Grandma took the grandkids to go see the movie. You go, you just have it. I mean, between the two, you give money to one of them. Well, that's only because my kids do not care about the DC stuff.

I've tried to get them to watch Superman a few times just cause I want to watch it. And finally had to give up and just like watch it myself cause they did not care. Like screw you up and we don't want your little DC movies. I mean, I just like the fact that James Gunn is like, you know what, like Marvel, they're the goody two shoes DC.

Like we can do what we want over here. I'm going to make Supergirl an alcoholic party girl who has got some issues and has to work through them in this movie. Nobody wants to see that. Well, and the actual comic that that's based off of is very like well revered and something from what I haven't read it.

But from what I've heard, they essentially like adapted the beginnings of that. And then like everything else that actually happens in the comic, they just like basically didn't do. That's great. That's great from what I understand.

So, so Supergirl was released earlier. I've got some stats for you. All right. Land on this.

Jesus. All right. So Supergirl has a combined budget. So total budget is basically $300 million.

This is break even point, right? So it needs to make $300 million just a break even. It's worldwide gross right now is $116 million. Its projected lifetime gross is $200 to $210 million.

So not great. You're looking at $100 to $120 million loss. Moana break even cost is $600 million. Is the break even cost?

Its current worldwide gross is $99 million. Wow. Dude, they sound like they got rocked. They're projecting $300 to $350 million loss for Moana.

Oof. Man. Like how many of these do you need to do before you're just like, OK, guys, the well is dried up for live action remakes right now? Well, I have a better question for you.

Is this the end of the rock? No. As like a movie star. Are we done with that?

No. I mean, aren't they still making another gimonji? Yeah, but they were making that a year ago. I'm saying that the brand new rules that horses out of the barn like I feel like you're I don't think he's done.

I just think he needs to chill out. Like, you know, take it you're off. You know, go fucking relax a little bit and then come back. Be like Brendan Frazier.

Come back and play a fat person. You know, dude, that'd be crazy. I mean, yeah, he did that indie movie where he lost a bunch of weight and like, you know, got like a standing ovation at the Sundance or whatever. Like just quit.

Stop there. Hey, you know that thing you like doing the page of millions of dollars? Just stop. Just quit.

It's fine. Yeah, I genuinely think as long as those checks are clearing, he does not give it. No, he doesn't care. And he should.

Hey, who the hell am I, right? If someone's going to pay you a beer money, man. All right. So we decided moving forward, we were going to do like, instead of like, hey, we watched this movie or we were playing this game is like separate things.

We're going to sort of roll it all into one thing because Justin's right. We'll spend a month talking about the same game we've been playing over and over again. No one wants to hear about that. But odds are you've watched something new or listened to something new or read something new.

Or you know, so it's just kind of like, hey, what have you been doing this week? I know Shannon and I have both been back into power with the vengeance. Shannon, since I talked about already, but your thoughts, it's really good, right? It is.

It's really good. Like, I don't regret playing it on my Steam Deck either, which is, it's great. I think the color scheme is a little off on the Steam Deck. Like, things are just people's body.

Like the skin tone of your character starting out is like really weird looking in the beginning. It's like orange. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah, no matter what you change it to, it's always got this orange hue to it. But yeah, it's like, I went from zero to 22 in what, like four or five days. And I'm not really playing that much. It's just, you know, with how everything is outlined now for you to progress, like, it makes leveling so fast.

Like, and that's great. Because like, I was looking at my old game and like, I was at level 30 when I stopped playing. And I feel like I played that for a shit ton longer than I played it this time. And like, I'm already pretty close to that, to that same level.

Having the experience that I had from playing it when it was pre-release, like, I know what I need to focus on, what I need to build, what pals I should be grabbing. So you know, there, you know, I'm moving along a lot faster. I've already beaten two of the towers. So that's way more than I did before because they were so ridiculously hard the last time.

Oh, I think when I stopped playing, I was around level 40 and only beat the first one. Yeah. Because I was like, screw it. Who cares?

But, you know, there's villages now, like there weren't villages or like there's people to talk to, there's side quests and like other things to do. I was like, jeez, this is, this is like a brand new, like a whole new thing. The aiming, you're like you're saying, it does feel better. It does lock on now.

Like when you get, when you, when you aim, like it'll lock and track. But then you're only gonna hit something, but like, they focused on the character that you're focusing on, which is great. But yeah, it feels a lot better, smoother and I'm loving it. So since we talked last time, I've also purchased it on Steam and put it on my Steam deck.

For two reasons. One, my son has rediscovered Power World and I can never get the Xbox to play like ever. So to play the game, I just, and it was on sale for like, was it 18 bucks or something that lunch week? So I just bought it and yeah, I'm back up to same as you basically like level 22 or 23 and starting to get like the cool huge pals that do a whole bunch of fun stuff.

And it's just, it's so well made. I mean, it really is. And I love seeing a company use its early access for what it's designed for. You can tell they took a lot of feedback.

They made a lot of changes. They improved the user experience so much compared to when it first launched. When it first launched, it was a fun novelty, but there wasn't much of a game there, especially because, yeah, everyone says it's Pokemon because it's not. It's a survivor game, right?

Your base building, your resource gathering and catching the Pokemon is a very small part of the game actually. But the, the back game first launched, the survivor part of that game sucked. There are a lot better versions that you could go play. There was raft and planet crafter and, you know, so on and so forth, you go down the list of all these other ones that were really access that were way better games as far as making a survivor game goes.

But they, you can tell, ground it out and they added more and added more and new islands, new locales, new weapons, new pals, all that stuff. It is just out the game. That was awesome. It's really fun.

It's really good. Yeah. Usually shy away from survival games just because I hate the survival aspect of it. Like I feel your food runs out hella fast.

You're looking, you're always, you're spending more time looking for the things that keep your character alive than you are playing the game. Right. And in this one, I feel they solve that pretty fast by giving you a food pack. You know, like you get one of those like chicken things and like a woolly guy and like you're basically set for a little bit.

Like, you know, you can, you have your food, you can make a crap ton of eggs, put them in your bag and like you don't have to worry about constantly feeding yourself because the bag will do it for you. So the very, the very plantation is one of the first things I'm super easy to build. Yeah. And like, you know, you like, you have like, I mean, at least where I set it up, I had like a water, like a creature that does watering, a creature that does gathering.

And like, I was, you know, and one that does harvest the air. Like, yeah, one of those planning, one that does watering, one that does gathering. And I was like, okay, cool. I'm set there.

I don't got to worry about food. Now I can like, you know, do the other stuff. And so like it just, it made it more fun because I wasn't constantly worrying about dying. Right.

And they didn't have that in the beginning, like in the, in the pre 1.0. And I feel that was the biggest quality change. Yeah. So it's one of the things if anyone is on the fence and has been looking at it.

I think it, it's been improved enough that it's totally worth your time to just kind of get lost in, play around and I keep finding stuff. That's the other thing that's really cool is like, I just keep finding new areas, new things, new zones, like it's that I'm probably eight hours in now. And it's cool to just keep like, I haven't even uncovered most of the map at this point. It's, it's cool.

That map is huge. Like it doesn't look like it, but like, I mean, they did a really good job at building, like a layered, like, you know, height system that, you know, so it's not as much out as it is also up. So, you know, I love their use of space. So good on you guys, Rob.

I'll tell you the other thing I've been playing this week. So I was digging in my garage, Shannon, and made a discovery, which was the rock band for adapter. Okay. That makes your old instruments work on the Xbox one slash series X.

I broke out those ones of bitches. Some rock band over here. And let me tell you. Shit rolls.

It's so good. No, I'm dead. I'm dead. They've got a sweat band.

I'm like, we're so back. We were so back. We are so back. The kids are playing.

My wife is all in again. Like I'm on the drums knocking that shit around. It's rock band telling you. It's been like a decade.

Over a decade. So I'm assuming your entire music library was still there where you could play all of the songs? No. So you cannot, you can no longer import rock bands one through three.

All those licenses are gone. But apparently that window closed like five years ago. You know, but anything I have purchased through the store, I could read out. So I was able to go through and download.

I believe it's about a hundred songs. That's not bad. That I had purchased prior that I was able to import back in. So what's the go to song for the family?

Let's see. Go goes. We got the beat. It's a lot of run.

There's a country song that the girls love playing called the White Church. And I was going through all this stuff. I had jar of flies. I had a download of it, which is rad.

I had a Vantara pack. I was playing. Oh, and then the staple rocks are like learn to fly food fighters. Just can you hear that song and not immediately think rock band?

Because I can't. And let me tell you that shit still goes. It's still random play. Dude, by Jovey's dead or alive.

That's the go to for me. Like I will sit there and play that over and over again. Living on a prayer also. Real good.

Queens of Stone Age threes and sevens. That's a great one on rock band. That's a throwback. Yeah.

Yeah. Tell me get your plastic instrument out. Shit goes. You can say at Comic Con actually on the show floor, there was a guitar based game out on the show floor with plastic instruments that people were playing.

I did not get to play it, but my friend Tanner played it. He said it was basically guitar hero, except his one gripe with it. As he said during their type of star power moments that the guitar had to stay up at an angle. Okay.

So he did not like having to. He's like, and there was quite a few of those moments. So he didn't like how often he had to be playing it at some weird angle. But.

You know, there are companies out there making new rock band guitars that are Bluetooth based and you do not need the adapter for, but I'm not at the point yet where I'm like, yeah, I'll spend $120 on a rock band guitar. That's how you know, Zach's all in. It's funny to see that buying rock band accessories in 2026. Well, I will tell you one of the things I'm going to do this weekend is climb up in my attic and get my 360 down because the rock band discs I have for one, two, three and Lego, I believe, Lego rock band, which was another collection of songs that was just like, I didn't have swear words basically, but those will still work on the 360.

So I think I know what I'm doing this weekend. It's all I'm saying. Do it early in the morning because it's going to be hot as bald, bro. I mean, you know, sometimes you got to suffer.

It's all I'm saying. True. And then Zach's so excited and then the 360 red rings and he's like, now I remember my big piece of shit. It's like never just grace this house again.

Probably well, you know. I think that my days of Final Fantasy being something I play while I'm on vacation is dwindling, dwindling drastically. Because I forgot that Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the Uprised Switch 2 version comes out on the video. So, yeah, it's already preloaded on my on my switch to.

Yeah. Hey, Zach, I need you to come in close first. I never believed for a second that Shannon was actually ever going to play that Final Fantasy game. I just told it to try to gaslight us.

I knew that shit was just going to sit there. That was all just chat to be. He was just like, yeah, he's just passing the book by. I knew he's like, dude, come on.

He's sitting. Oh boy. I'm supposed to forget that Monster Hunter stories three exists. Like, what are we doing?

Like he was never playing Final Fantasy. Yeah. I'm like, look, there's not a single system that man's going to own that. PlayStation, Steam Deck, and wait, that shit could come out on the game cube and he's like, no, dude, I'll buy it.

I'm playing that shit. So true. That is so sad. It's like the end that's really hitting close to home right now.

You also know what comes out next week is a beast of reincarnation, which I'm really excited to do. Yeah, fuck yeah, dude. I do that. I got that pre-installed.

So I'm ready to hit the ground running on that. Game Pass is going to get another banger up on its own. So we're going to Game Pass bangers, you know, Halo campaign evolved launch today. That crickets just tougher.

I'm happy for you. I know you're excited for that. I'd be more excited if there was online. You know, as you can do single players.

Well, I mean, we can do online campaign, but there's no like, you know, the thing they've made a million times? Yeah, they just couldn't fit it on this one, apparently. It's not like the original version had that. Oh, wait.

It did. It's not like they haven't released it 10 times in 10 different Master Chief Collection editions. Oh, wait, they're like, I'm not buying another fucking server for goddamn Halo one. Yeah, like we keep doing this and nobody's playing the fucking thing.

We're going to do it. I love how they like solve the problem from Halo Infinite with like, oh, everyone was complaining that they couldn't do the campaign multiplayer. So we got to do that. Great.

So what about the online multiplayer like shooting each other part? No, no, they really want to play the campaign together. They don't want to do the multiplayer online shooting. No, I just.

It's heard around at the computer chair like, wait, you wanted that too? Do we smell the talking to you with this? This is like the total fucking monkey spot. It's like, man, I wish we could play campaign together.

And then the genie is like, that's all you can do. Hey, guys, we just laid off half our stuff. We can only do one of the two things. Yeah.

It's a coin flip, which divisions get laid off this week. Shit. Oh, man. Well, yes.

So pivoting from games to music, I listen to the new motionless and white sound CD. I would say it's pretty solid. Yeah, pretty solid. Like, I mean, you know, when you say it with a tone that gets higher, as you speak, it makes it sound like you don't mean it.

Because I'm confused. Like, it's got like this hard metal thing, which I like. Hard metal that she hadn't like, she's got it. Yeah.

But it's weird because it's more like synth-y metal. So like, I don't know, you get hit with that hard riff in the beginning and you're like, okay, I'm vibing, it's cool. And then it drops. And then like, there's like this crazy section and you're like, okay, I'm going to pull back a little bit, I was invested.

But now I'm going to wait to see where the song develops. It kind of like, you know, some of them hit, some of them miss. They do a cover of sunglasses at night, which is kind of like a beat for beat, kind of the same, but with a little bit more guitar. Look, you don't pull a blade with a guy in shades.

But yeah, I mean, it's good. It's good. I mean, I got the whole album. So, you know, I'm pretty, pretty happy with it.

It's not a bad purchase. I took, I made a last minute decision to take my son to go see Jimmy E. World on Friday. Dude, conquer pavilion.

Have you been there? Not a huge? No. That's a special crowd.

That's some might call the conquer the gateway to the central valley after seeing that crowd. A little messed up, if you have, yeah. Just a little. But it was fantastic, dude.

Like they played lead American front to back. And you forget just how much of a banger that album is. They get one that's like, and okay, this was the question I have for the people. And I'm going to posit it to both of you, gentlemen.

So you've got on that album, you've got a praise chorus, right? You've got lead American. You've got the middle. All bangers, right?

Sweetness is the best song on that album. Right? Well, yeah. Right?

And it really became apparent when they were playing it live because it was just like banger, banger, banger, banger, banger, sweetness and like people lost their game on it. It was just, well, it was like, holy shit. And do you think these guys knew when they wrote that song, they're like, strap in. Yeah, I mean, I feel like in the legendary one right here.

I mean, you think they were just like, yeah, it's a good song. It's a good song. But people like it. I feel like it's almost the second one because, you know, that album, they push the middles, the one that gets pushed the hardest or anything.

But like, I'm a huge bleed American fan myself. But you know, that always is like, no one ever remembers anything. I feel like besides the middle off of that album. Well, everybody just remembers a music video because like, you know, when that's Shannon remembers the music video.

Okay. I remember the music video for that. Yeah. It's like it's me.

I'm everyone. Yes. I mean, I don't know if I'm going to be in the sweetness like so much like that. Like every time I hear those drums, it just it fills me with so much energy.

But I mean, I would say like, the middle is probably like maybe the third or like fourth best song on that album. Like I would rather listen to praise chorus or like or sweetness than I would the middle. It's funny because they were talking to the crowd during the show. And even they were like, you know, when we made this album, because actually bleed American was the lead single when they released it, but they're 9-11 happened.

And they're like, oh, not bleed American where we'll go with everything. All right. We had no idea. Track three off this album was going to be the big breakthrough song.

That wouldn't be the one we pegged as the song. And I'm like, I wonder if sweetness was the song though when they made it. I don't think so. Like it's kind of, I mean, it's I feel like it's kind of a departure from like their other albums and their other music.

Like it's not like their other music has like a certain nostalgic like kind of, I don't know, like it's it seems like it's more down to earth. And sweetness kind of feels like it's more like up in the clouds, you know, like. If you have the chance, go see Jimmy and roll. They did not drop anything.

They sound so good. They haven't taken any steps back. And I haven't seen them. Geez.

17 years maybe was the last time I saw them. It was a long time ago. It was when Big Casino was a single radio. It's been a while.

It's been a while. Yeah. Cool stuff. So I have an idea and something we can toss around for a main topic when you get back from vacation.

What do you guys feel about doing like a draft for either movie soundtracks or games we never finished? I think both could be fun. Both could be fun. Like I want to create categories and we can all draft for category.

We'll set in order. I think games we never finished would be funny if we all just go into one giant pool, a bunch of games we never finished and draft those. Yeah. I think that would be fun.

The thing is we've got a pool and Shannon's got like. Shannon's got like, he's like, dude, I just need to go off the last couple months of the month. All right. So you're going to be back in what two shows?

Yeah. All right. I'll get the games we haven't finished draft put together for that show. That would be fun.

I'll have my computer with me so I can update the Google Doc. Nice. Nice. So have you guys heard of the protests for PlayStation?

Yeah. I think are hilarious because no one's protesting. The week Wolverine's coming out or the week JTA's coming out. But hey, yes, we're mad until Wolverine drops.

Hey, that is this console. That is not next console. So you can't get mad at this one. You get mad at the next one.

Sure. Sure. We've touched on this before, but like I kind of, why do you think people are mad? Why do you think physical media matters to people?

What do you think it is, right? Because we've like, we think of it our own opinions of like, I don't buy anything because I don't want stuff in my house. Like I don't really care. But like all of this is coming from somewhere.

And what do you think it is? So I think we've, and we've talked about this before, but I think my primary reason that people, the primary reason I think that people are upset is because they feel that they own it if they physically have it. And I know that's not the case for video games, but for CDs and music and all that stuff, like you own that CD, like as long as you have a CD player, it doesn't matter what happens to the band, it doesn't matter what happens to the producers or whatever, you're always going to have that CD. Well, I didn't like to grind it up earlier with like, I can still break out my 360 and play rockin'.

Right? Yeah. And I mean, that's great in that situation. And I think it also appeals to younger people who, you know, you're trying to find yourself, find your identity and find like-minded people.

And I know a lot of times, like when I was younger, like if I was sitting next to somebody and I saw them open up their CD logic case and like, you know, there was like an Alice in Chain there, I was like, okay, like there's something, like there's an icebreaker, like I can talk to this person and we have something in common. And like, you know, that's how some of my friendships did start. So, you know, in that respect, I think, you know, there are lifelines there for social interactions, you know, where people might struggle or find that difficult. You know, so I think, you know, that's a big portion of it.

Young people, I think, also like to have and collect stuff because they're, you know, building that, that, you know, environment that they find comfortable. And I think those things provide comfort. You know, with us, like we've already established ourselves, we have, like our lives, we're relatively happy in them. And we don't need those like little trachies.

We know that that doesn't define us. We're out of that stage, you know, we've evolved, I guess you can say into our next maturing stage of life. So, you know, that's why I think people are so upset because I don't think it's like the older generation of gamers that are complaining. I think it's the younger generation.

But that's just- Yeah. There's a just, I don't know if Justin has a take on it. You know, my thing is, is like you said, the game isn't on it anymore. You know, you go back far enough, sure, it actually is.

And I do feel like everyone does have that sense of want of like ownership, you know, of like they can't take it away from me. But the reality of the situation is, is like, you know, even in today's world, if you buy the physical thing, like unless you're really like a collector and you just want the physical thing for your shelf, you know, to say you have it, that type of thing. But it's like I personally don't see the need in it. Like, yes, it sucks, you know, when stuff gets taken down digitally.

That's why it's like the Pirate Bay and, you know, to our day and like whatever. We'll just continue to exist because, you know, once something is out digitally, like yes, even if it is removed from a market or whatever, it will still exist online somewhere in some shape or fashion. So it's never truly gone once it, you know, unless it's conicored, then it is truly gone. That it is, it's gone for good.

Yeah, then it's gone, gone the way the dinosaurs. But I do think that, you know, it's what we just go to where sure you haven't, you haven't had the ability to own your game since cartridges stopped, basically, right? And things of, you know, as soon as internet connections became a thing with gaming and patches and all that stuff happened, you stopped being able to own the game. That's all been licenses.

And I think the issue I'm having now is you're not buying the game when you buy the game. Not even like license-wise or anything, you're just buying an install file. Everything else still gets downloaded. So it's not like you could, if the servers go offline, that game still isn't going to work.

It's still not the 360 rock band example I gave where all of that is on the disc. It just doesn't work. It's conchorded for life or better term. And so, yeah, it's just a weird space.

And I can truly see both sides because I can see the content creator side of why am I wasting time and money making this? No, like, it doesn't do anything other than just sit on the shelf. But I can also see someone being like, yes, but I want to have something. Because one day you're just going to turn the switch off and I've spent money and have nothing.

And so I see both sides. Yeah, and that's been the hard switch for video games. And then I know even for me lately for any time I go to half price books or bookmans or whatever, if I find some DVDs of stuff that I watch all the time, I've been picking those up on the cheap just because I'm sick of getting removed off streaming services or having to hunt it down to fucking watch it. It's sad as that is easier to pull it off the shelf and put it in again and sit there and try and go through the JustWatch app and figure out if I'm on the 15 streaming services that I actually owned and if it's not, like your SOL.

But I also feel that movies are different. Right. I just didn't. Eh, I don't know.

It's just an interesting topic. Something is not going to go away anytime soon. It seems like we're coming to some sort of inflection point on this with like, and then it hilariously, after all these companies say this stuff, it's been like big outage week with PSN going down and Xbox going down and like steam having issues. It was just like, oh, this is the problem with all digital future.

Now your service is down, no one can play anything. So I don't know, but at the same time, what do you want to do install Wolverine on 18 CD ROMs or something? It's like, no, you're not doing that. Excuse me, Wolverine, this 15 of 23 has a scratch in it and I can no longer proceed in chapter six.

Exactly. All right. Okay, let's let's pick what we're going to do for our rose tinted glasses. Shannon, give me an old game, something that you remember being a banger.

They haven't played a while. Hmm. Right. I mean, I can check out.

You can check. I mean, most of the games that I would tell you, you've already played. Yeah, but I also probably haven't played a while. The whole point is like, do we remember them as bangers and are they?

Or are they kind of suck? Okay. How about resistance? Follow man.
