Episode #41 Mindful Life Podcast. COVID 19 and Mental Health.
from Mindful Life Podcast · host Maryanne Eve
In episode number 41 of the Mindful Life Podcast, I explore the impacts to mental health of Covid-19. This global pandemic has forced the world to drastically change the way we live our lives. Our freedom has been restricted and we are largely housebound with no end date in sight. As a Mental Health Worker I am already seeing first hand the flow on effect to peoples lives, the stress of employment loss, financial losses, increases in family violence and the psychological effects of isolation and loss of connection with others. Experts predict that the effects to mental health will be as bad or worse than the impacts of the virus itself. Its a tough time for us all, but we are all in the same boat. This is a worldwide issue. It can be a great opportunity for us to support and nurture each other, to show empathy to our fellow human and an invitation for us to slow down.
