The post-Original Trilogy era takes root in Marvel's Star Wars comics this week with the launch of the 12-issue The Battle of Jakku maxi-series, a sprawling run that's poised to bridge the gap between the just concluded Star Wars and Darth Vader runs with whatever's due to come out in February, and does so in a dramatic, if not menacing fashion.Insurgency Rising #1 (of 4) sets up twain stories in the immediate aftermath of the second Death Star's destruction, bringing to comics key figures from the Aftermath trilogy of novels, the 2015 Star Wars Uprising mobile game and legacy characters like Leia and Luke, with readers poised to learn the events leading up to the fateful final fight over Jakku.It's been a longtime coming, this new story.
