Just like renovating a home, you can’t bypass the structural work and expect the walls to stand. You can paint, you can decorate, you can make it look beautiful on the surface — but if the foundation is unstable, it will all eventually crumble.We have to work in way that is sustainable. In a way that the work we do will stick. If we try to move too fast it may not be sustainable. It may also cause more harm than good. Build your foundation so that whatever comes next will have a safe and solid place to land and build from. Healing works the same way. Band-Aids can’t hold forever. Affirmations won’t hide avoidance. Spiritual bypassing isn’t freedom — it’s delay. The work of becoming who you’re meant to be isn’t always easy. It requires honesty, pain, patience, and radical self-compassion. But the reward?
