Emily Jaskowiak, born into a family immersed in athletics, loved sports and competition starting at an early age.  When she was not showing her beloved horse, Mint Parfait, she was pursuing multiple sports.  Her love of sports was a family affair as she was encouraged by her dad, who played football at University of Missouri, and her grandpa, who played professional basketball. With plenty of encouragement from grandpa, Charles Share, basketball quickly emerged as her preferred sport. Following graduation from Parkway West High School in Chesterfield, Missouri, she played Division I basketball at The University of Tulsa (TU) where she received a Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology ('05) and a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology ('07). Emily thrived on the court as well as in the classroom. Emily was a starter and three year captain during her tenure at TU. Emily lead the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) in field goal percentage during her sophomore season, was selected as WAC and Conference-USA Player of the Week, and ended her career in the top 10 among TU's career leaders in six categories.  During her senior season (2005-2006) she was selected to the Conference USA All-Tournament Team and was identified as one of eight student athletes on TU's "Ultimate Team" who exemplified qualities and characteristics such as academic success, campus involvement, and community outreach. Academically, Emily was a three-time selection to the Western Athletic Conference All-Academic team, Dean's list, Athletic Director's Honor Roll and additionally she was named to  ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI second team her senior year. Following her career at TU, Emily played for the Oklahoma Flyers, an exhibition team, for three seasons where she ended her career as their all-time leading scorer.   Emily is married to Brian Sherburne and resides in Kelso, Washington with their two children, Mariah (4) and Hudson (2); four dogs; and four cats. Emily and Brian lead an active lifestyle in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy spending time doing outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, trail running, and canoeing. Emily is currently employed as a school-based speech and language pathologist and is pursuing a doctorate degree in education with a concentration in neuroeducation.
