Episode 424 - Why do we all sell our freedom so easily?

From the laments for food of the children of Israel in the desert after crossing the Red Sea in Nm 11:4b-15 to Aaron speaking against Moses in Nm 12:1-13, to the first incursion into the Promised Land by a team of spies in Nm 12:1-13  to the test of Moses at Meribah  where " the children of Israel contended against the Lord, and where the LORD revealed his sanctity among them" along with the death of Moses' wife Miriam in Nm 20:1-13...  we find the last part of the story in the Pentateuch, the difficulties of a people traversing from slavery to freedom. Why do we all sell our freedom so easily? He saw God face to face. God says this of him: "Now listen to the words of the LORD: Should there be a prophet among you, in visions will I reveal myself to him, in dreams will I speak to him; not so with my servant Moses! Throughout my house he bears my trust: face to face I speak to him; plainly and not in riddles. The presence of the LORD he beholds."
