More importantly she knows how difficult starting over can be from her deeply personal experience. After being married to the love of her life for 33 years, her husband passed away and she suddenly went from the perfect plus one to just one. Life changed forever for Maria and she was left to pick up the pieces of her life. She saw how the world caters to the young while the message of ageism causes so many not to realize their best days are ahead. She personally experienced the journey of being happily married to widowed and suddenly single - and its ups and downs. She had to wrestle with the difficult decision to put herself out there again and quickly realized how dating today has changed.
