🎙️ **Podcast Introduction - Part 2** Welcome back to The Mind Sensei Podcast! I’m your host, Peter Tas, and today we’re diving into Part 2 of our special three-part series with Mr. Marcus Buonfiglio. In Part 1, we explored Marcus’s early journey—his upbringing, introduction to martial arts, and his successes as a competitor in American Kenpo. Today, we’re moving deeper into his story, focusing on his evolution from competitor to combatives expert and trainer for elite military and law enforcement personnel. Mr Bounfiglios  journey took a powerful turn in 1994, when he began training under Grandmaster Michael Robert Pick, honing the combative side of Kenpo and immersing himself in close-quarter combat. This shift not only elevated his skillset but led him to co-found pioneering programs like Modern American Warrior, American Kenpo Fighting System, and Critical Distance Combatives. Through these, Marcus has blended the art of Kenpo with practical, real-world applications that he teaches to elite units, including the US Army’s 10th Special Forces Group. In this episode, we will share his philosophy on combatives training, insights on the techniques that define close-quarters combat, and stories from his work with military and law enforcement. We’ll also dive into his teachings on predator awareness, a subject he’s passionate about, and learn how understanding sociopathic behavior can be key to staying safe. So, without further ado, let’s welcome Marcus Buonfiglio back to The Mind Sensei Podcast for Part 2 of this fascinating series.
