The cocktail we are talking today about is the Bee Knees cocktail which was created during this time. The sweetener (honey) was added to mask the bathtub or poor quality gin that was available at the time due to limited supplies. It was created by Frank Meier, the head bartender at the Ritz Bar in Paris. Get this, Frank lead a separate life as a spy...interesting! Want to know more then listen in. By the way Bees Knees in jazz lingo leans “great” or “excellent” or “the best”.Do bees have knees? hmm ...find out!!Recipe: 2 oz Gin, 1 oz Lemon Juice, 1 oz Honey Syrup. Shake with ice.
