Episode 44- Cultivating Contentment Part 2

from She Envisions · host Joane Casey

Episode 43: Cultivating Contentment Part 2 In this episode, I get to share my heart about how to grow in contentment in different areas of our lives. When you are content, you are fully surrendered and can live in peace. We are surrendered when we love the Lord with all of our hearts, soul, and mind. God has taken you this far and has continued to carry you through this season. Deuteronomy 5:6 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength Before you can be content you go through a stretching season of discomfort and discontent. Contentment begins when we get to the end our ourselves. When God is preparing our hearts we go through resistance training with our faith. God desires us to put our faith in Him and to rely on Him. The enemy will try to get you to do things on your own so that you don't have to rely on God. The first step to contentment is being a good steward of the oil that is in your hand now, the gifts that God has blessed you. Cultivating contentment requires you to feed your faith and to exercise putting your faith in our creator and our heavenly Father who has designed you and knows the plans for you. Every vision and calling requires a sacrifice. Are you willing to sacrifice your own agenda and ideas and surrender it to God and trust Him to lead you and guide you? Temporary contentment is when we put our faith into things and not God. Discontentment will come when we sacrifice our intimacy with God for other idols that we think will sustain us. Our true contentment is when we place our faith fully in God. Feel free to share what you got out of this week's episode and email us @ [email protected].
