On December 17, 2009, a 911 call came into the Kennedale, Texas, police about a burning house. Inside the house, three people were found dead. A pregnant mother named Joy Hummel, a 5-year-old girl named Jodi, and Joy's father Clyde. The only survivor was Joy's husband John, who said he had just returned home to find his house on fire. John was later arrested, and sentenced to death for the murders of his family. He was executed in June 2021.
