People will see you heading downhill into a fire, and they will let you go full steam ahead without a word, because they don't want to offend. People don't want to interfere, step on toes, rock the boat, be honest, etc. Many think it's being politically correct, but in honestly it has nothing to do with what politically correct actually means. It's a scapegoat for many, because a lot of people don't want to deal with anything.
