Send us Fan MailComing Up On Episode 46, Chris Lewis. This is Chris's story:I’m a massive rugby league fan. I support Leeds Rhinos and was a season ticket holder for years. I started playing age 7 at for my local team Normanton Knights in West Yorkshire. I represented the Wakefield District at junior level. At 16 I progressed in to the professional academies, played in the 1st team for Wakefield Wildcats in 2006 and then shortly after I signed for Doncaster. In 2008 in got injured rupturing my ACL in my left knee. I had a knee reconstruction, did the rehab. 18 months after the injury I had my first game back and ruptured the same knee. I had the 2nd reconstruction but the rehab took about 2 years. I managed to get back playing for my local team Normanton Knights but then a few games in a ruptured my o we for a 3rd time.I decided I didn’t want to go through another operation and rehab so I stopped playing rugby in January 2013. Having only played about 6 games in a 5 year period I could accept quitting the game. From 2013 I stoped all cardio and just did weight training 3 times a week in the gym. I got in great shape and it filled the gap from not playing rugby. In 2017 my mate Jason asked if I wanted to do a triathlon he had entered. My response was, “absolutely not, why the hell would I want to do that?”Again, he asked me in 2018.My response this time was, “ ok I’m not really doing anything else I’ll give it a go”Now Im addicted to tri.You can listen to this AMP episode and all the others on most podcast platforms and now we a have our own YouTube channel : AMP GBFind us on Instagram amp_1967Twitter agegroupmultisportpodcastFacebook AMPGBYouTube AMP GBWebsite is : agegroupmultisportpodcast.buzzsprout.comemail: agegroupmultisportpodcastSupport the show
