Episode 46 | Let's Talk About Sleep
from Psych Talk · host Dr. Jessica Rabon
In today's episode of Psych Talk I talk all about sleep. Sleep is extremely important to our overall physical and mental health. Good quality sleep impacts many aspects of our functioning, yet the CDC estimates that one in three adults in the United States does not get enough sleep. In this episode I discuss how much sleep we need, the differences between sleep deprivation and insomnia, and the benefits of good sleep and negative impacts of poor sleep. Additionally, I finish the episode by discussing evidence-based interventions that have been shown to improve sleep quality. As always, Psych Talk is not a replacement for therapy, thus, if you feel that your sleep is disrupting your functioning, it is recommended to seek out assistance from a professional.Ways to Work With Me:1:1 CoachingMind Over MatterLGBTQ+ Affirming MasterclassBe a guest on my podcastResources:Value Aligned 2021 JournalAnti-Racism ResourcesLGBTQ+ Affirming ResourcesThe Helping Professional's Guide to Boundary SettingConnect with Me:Follow me on IG @jessicaleighphd.Follow me on TikTok @jessicaleighphdJoin my Facebook community: Grow Through What You Go ThroughIntro/Outro Music:Life of Riley by Kevin MacLeodMusic LicenseAwakening Together, Relaxing into Happiness with William Cooper, M.Th., LPCExperience Awakening....Relaxing into your Being and, therefore, Happiness.
