Episode 46 - Meditative Story: Waiting for the Sun

from Still Becoming with Monica DiCristina · host Monica DiCristina

Each month, Still Becoming will bring you a story. These episodes are short, meditative, and combine music with story. Though the story is personal to me or someone else, the hope is that we can all have a moment to breathe, listen, and reflect on our own story as we listen.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Story: Waiting for the Sun⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This month I am writing a letter for anyone struggling with a sense of overwhelm, exhaustion, anxiety, or depression during this pandemic. I share a short personal vignette about my own story and discuss the importance of reaching out for help when you are struggling. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I want to normalize struggling with your mental health during this pandemic, and I want to highlight the importance of not struggling alone. This episode is almost like a meditation on that.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I'll be honest, I don't like shiny optimism and positivity very much. Because it is often invalidating to what we are feeling. What I prefer is naming and honoring, and calling in hope and help. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ For more Still Becoming, follow Monica on Instagram @monicadicristina.
