Professor Reyntjens is a renowned expert on the Great Lakes particularly on Rwandan politics. Our topic focuses on the 2024 election that returned President Paul Kagame for the fourth time with a landslide victory scoring nearly 100 percent of the votes. Filip discusses the contradiction in Rwanda's positive economic growth versus its repressive political structure. The discussion also extends to other autocratic democracies in Africa.
