Originally from Stone Mountain, GA, Brad Brannon was commissioned from Auburn University ROTC as aField Artillery Officer in 2002 and began his career with the 25thInfantry Division, Hawaii, where hedeployed as a Company Fire Support Officer and Battery Executive Officer to Kirkuk, Iraq in 2004.  Upon retirement from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel, Brad completed a 2198 mile thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail. Starting on June 10, 2023 in Maine, he hiked through torrential rain, high creeks, and extreme trail conditions in New England. Enduring a hot summer with unusually dry conditions, he continued south and enjoyed a beautiful fall from southern Virginia to Georgia, where he finished on November 12.Brad is married to the former Christina Clark of Birmingham, Alabama. They have two sons, Dillon (17) and Sean (15). He enjoys hiking, gardening, and watching his sons play sports.
