Many people feel sad around the holidays and it is really hard to be cheerful and upbeat. This episode of, 'Win Over Depression,' tackles how to get through the holiday season head on. There is a daily mantra that Tamera encourages mental health sufferers to recite every day to get them on the road to healing and being more proactive in their quest to overcome their circumstances and feel better.RECITE DAILYMental Illness has no power in my life. I have nothing to prove to anyone. I am my own person capable of holding my own and I do not need validation from anyone to determine my self-worth. I will begin today making independent decisions based upon my needs. I will no longer place the needs of others before myself; I will stand up and fight for the convictions I am not willing to compromise. I know that my depression in part stems from other people who I have given to much power over my life. Every day I will begin to make decisions that will reflect my beliefs and value system. I want to heal and therefore I will take on difficult tasks and make better choices for the right reasons. Giving Up is NEVER an OptionHere are five things you can do right now?#1- Every single day complete at least two tasks you often put off; whether its writing a letter, calling an old friend, making your bed, making breakfast, getting out of bed, cleaning your bathroom, going for a walk, taking your dogs for a walk?#2- Get out of bed no later than 10 am; earlier if your can.#3- Get at least 15 minutes of sunlight everyday.#4- Listen to soothing music.#5- Open your curtains and window; smell the fresh air.WIN OVER DEPRESSION WEBSITES:STITCHERhttps://www.stitcher.com/show/tameras-podcastBLOGGERhttp://www.ttfightsdepression.blogspot.2LINKEDINwww.linkedin.com/in/tamera-trotter-aa125076 PINTERESTHTTPS://www.pinterest.com/ttmentalhealthexpertHelp Me Continue This Worthwhile WorkPATREON:https://www.patreon.com/tameratrotterSupport the showGET COURSE NOWhttps://www.pensight.com/x/14DaystoManageDepression
