Episode 48 - Goon *Listener's Choice*

The brutality of professional hockey serves as the backdrop for this dark comedy starring Sean William Scott as Doug, a simple bar bouncer who is the under-achieving black sheep in his family.  One day he finds he has a great talent: punching the crap out of people!  He destroys an angry hockey player at a game one day, because said athlete threatened Doug's friend.  Seems like that's all it took for Doug's killer instinct to take effect - he's a very sweet guy, and he's very protective of his loved ones.  Doug gets recruited for a Canadian hockey team right away, solely because of his ability to kick serious ass.  From there, he ascends in the world of hockey, falls in love and gets to meet his match in the form of Ross Rhea, the toughest hockey player in the league.
