from The Leadership Lounge Podcast · host Stuart Waddington

What a privilege to sit down with Dan Purvis, have a chat about leadership and how he has had to learn to deal with pressure. As you will know by now, I have a real passion for changing it up and having diverse conversations about leadership, this is a perfect example of this concept. I asked Dan to introduce himself - Hi I’m Daniel Purvis, I’m an ex Gb and Scottish male gymnast. I started the sport when I was 7 years old and I loved my first session that much and found my passion for sport that I continued going and looking forward to each session. Age 10 I got selected for the Team GB squad and age 13 competed in my first international in Germany. My highlights of my carrier are - 4xBritish champion   7x European medalist   5xCommonwealth games medalist  2xWorld championship medalist   1xOlympic medalist I retired at 28 and since then I have been coaching gymnastics. I started my own recreational gymnastics club in 2016. I also coach at Southport gymnastics club where I trained all my life at and I also work with the GB development squad boys. Very fortunate to be able to coach at the sport I love in all sorts of different levels and hopefully help the gymnasts I coach to reach there potential.
