EPISODE 49: MARK WATSON

from A RICH COMIC LIFE PODCAST · host Richard Gill

In this episode, I talk to the brilliant comedian, MARK WATSON about his comedy career. Watson has had a long and varied career as a stand-up comedian.  He is a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe being nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2005 Perrier Awards and winning the first ever Panel Prize at the if.comeddies in 2006.  In the same year, he also received a Barry Award nomination for best show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival as well as the Time Out Critics Choice Award. Since 2006, I have enjoyed watching Watson’s solo shows at The Edinburgh Fringe including I’m Worried That I’m Starting to Hate Almost Everything in the World in 2006, Do I Know You in 2010, Flaws in 2014, Festival of Bad Ideas in 2017 and I Appreciate You Coming to This and Let’s Hope for the Best in 2019.  I have also seen online versions of his twenty-four charity shows The Watsonathon in 2020 together with other performances including Always Be Comedy in 2020 and 2021. The comedian is also an acclaimed author and his ideas are always very clever and extremely funny.
