[Episode 49] Stop playing small. Danielle Macleod reminds us that we are all remarkable and capable of so much more

from Dare To Be Brave with Joy Foster · host Joy Foster

How much more would we achieve if we could turn down the dial on our inner critic? Or better, just switch off that annoying little voice altogether? It might be silent but, my word, it’s destructive patterns can be deadly. It feeds us with a constant stream of ‘I can’t’, ‘What if’, ‘I’m too old’, ‘I’m not good enough’, ‘I’m not worthy’ – and, argh, it’s exhausting. In fact, the cacophony of self-doubt can be so deafening is it any wonder we pounce on those super annoying earworms as a means to drown it all out (all together now… ‘Baby Shark doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo’. Please, no, what have we started?!).But know this, TechPixies: whatever your naughty inner critic might tell you, you are meant for more. Having you believe that is why we spend so much time on techniques that help you master your mind; it’s why we ask you to squash those ANTs and kick those self-limiting beliefs to the kerb. It’s a practice we have in common with Danielle Macleod, founder of the incredible Remarkable Women network and our brilliant guest on this week’s Sparkle and Thrive Podcast. Here’s why you need to tune in There’s an awesome quote from Danielle in this week’s episode that’s so good we just had to share it. It’s a real stonker – one of those quotes that will make you stop what you’re doing, sit up and take note. It goes a little something like this: ‘I think we are capable of so much more and this thing up here kids us otherwise...there is a voice in our head that is persistently telling us ‘we can’t’... but you are remarkable. There is never going to be another you ever again in space and time; you’ve already passed the bar of remarkable. So, when we choose to listen to the voice in our head that tells us we are to play small, everyone misses out.’ Boom! It’s another Be Brave and Sparkle Mic Drop Moment (we’re seriously considering trademarking this phrase!). You are remarkable… you just need to believe it. So, stop already with the ‘I can’t’, ‘I don’t know how’, and the ‘but, what if it all goes wrong?’ and spend the next 25 minutes or so tuning in to something that’s a whole lot more pleasing to your ears than Baby Shark (in our humble opinion). Be brave, get your sparkle on and press play now. Here’s what to listen out for: [07:58] Danielle reveals why she thinks we’re all holding back.[08:51] Danielle talks about her life lesson. [11:13] Hear how we are all capable of so much more.[13:15] Why you need to be more discerning in your choices.[14:37] Be inspired by the story of the remarkable Holly Ransom.[20:25] Hear Danielle’s brilliant key takeaway. For links and resources mentioned in this episode, head to TechPixies.com/episode49Want to transform your life?  💪 Discover how to leverage social media with our 21 Day Social Media Confidence Challenge. 🚀 Take your social media to the next level by watching our Social Media Masterclass.🌈 Enjoy a super quick shift in your mindset with our 12 Day Design Your Dream Life Challenge.Follow us on social media @techpixies and ping us a DM or drop us a line  at [email protected] Thanks for listening!
