Episode 496 - The Thriftones

They hang TV's in trees, they rehearse in a frozen attic, their tour vehicle is Townes Van Country, and they play familiar sounding music that you've never heard. They are Thriftones. With a sound driven as much by the groovy and often dark tones as it is by the lyrical content, the new self titled album captures the band at an exciting time. After forming in late 2011, the band played nearly every weekend to earn enough money to produce their debut record.
