Blazing Defender Comic Book Report Blazing Defender Report BDR is, Finally, an honest Comic Book podcast with edge and FUN! The Sole reason I started the show was that I didn't like any Comic podcast out there! "This comic is awesome! Oh, I didn't tell you I'm paid to say that?" UGH! I give you my Top 5 comics every week along with my pick of the week (nobody is paying me to say SHIT!) Plus I keep you caught up with all the cool and RELEVANT comic book news. I LOVE comics. Give my show a listen and I'll prove it, AND you'll probably gonna have a laugh or 5 before the show's over. Thanks for listening! Explicit On The Horizon Charlie Gladstone & Tara Richards-Gladstone Welcome to the On The Horizon podcast. This podcast series starts by taking you through recordings from our live event, and then will move onto more conversations with more brilliant people, throughout the year. We felt that the talks that we used to host at The Good Life Experience (our festival of food, ideas, music & craft that we ran for 8 years) on Hawarden Estate were really special and unusual. In many ways it was the guests’ conversations before and after the talks that made them different. We deliberately had no green room or backstage, and so the speakers were able to meet the audience and continue their conversations over a drink or food or whatever. And then we had the fact that our great, great, (an extra great for Tara) grandfather, William Gladstone Prime Minister, lived here for much of his life and that this means that there is a rich history of important conversations happening here. So yes, maybe the concept for On The Horizon was taking Hawarden back to the time w Explicit DENIED: A Metastatic Breast Cancer Series Matthew Zachary Worldwide Christine was told she was too young. Garry didn’t even think it was possible. And Shonte pushed for six years before her doctors took her seriously. As of 2023, there is no cure for Metastatic Breast Cancer - also known as MBC. And so, the people most in need often are left behind. Their care is delayed, their concerns are dismissed, and their futures are denied. Denied tells the stories of the people who are fighting to change this - to build a more equitable healthcare system, end racial health disparities, and find a cure. Explicit Galaktacus Jim Kettner, John Mihaly, and Scott Brown The name Galaktacus originates from a youthful mispronunciation of a classic comic book character best known for eating planets. Before all of the blockbuster film franchises and the non-stop spoiler-filled internet coverage there was limited space to openly discuss such topics let alone their proper pronunciations. ("Is it Mag-neato or Mag-net-o?") So with that in mind, what started as a long-running, inside joke has now become a word that best defines the spirit of this podcast—looking at comic books, sci-fi, film, television, music, literature and gaming from the perspective of individuals who have grown up in this evolving "nerd culture" and are amazed by the ways in which it has taken over the mainstream. Galaktacus attempts to eschew that "angry nerd" character and celebrate the good, the bad and the weird that comes along with this current golden age of pop culture. So let the devouring begin!
