Episode-5 Copyrite, Cameras and Counterfeiting
from The Photography Junkie Podcast · host The Photography Junkie
In this week's episode of "The Photography Junkie" podcast, we cover three exciting news stories. Canon has launched two new products: the EOS R100 camera and the RF28mm F2.8 STM lens. The EOS R100 is designed for entry-level and emerging content creators, offering a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor, 4K video recording, advanced autofocus, and compatibility with RF and EF lenses. The RF28mm F2.8 STM lens is a compact and lightweight companion for the EOS R100, providing exceptional image quality. An app called FeaturePrint claims to spot fake products using just an iPhone photo. Developed by Alitheon, this AI-powered app analyzes unique surface details of physical items to create a "unique mathematical identity" called a FeaturePrint. It aims to combat counterfeit products by providing a reliable identification method that doesn't rely on traditional markers like barcodes or QR codes. FeaturePrint is a B2B solution and has found use in various industries. Nikon has unveiled the Nikon Z 8 mirrorless camera. Inspired by the flagship Z 9, the Z 8 offers advanced functionality and performance in a compact body. It features diverse shooting systems, 12-bit RAW and ProRes video recording, extended recording times, powerful subject detection, superior image depiction, and additional features such as Real-Live Viewfinder and customizable AF. Nikon also offers an optional power battery pack for vertical shooting and extended battery life.
