Episode 5: Racism and social injustice in healthcare and research

As part of a major medical school in Texas, we felt compelled to  have a dialogue about racism and social injustice in healthcare and  research. Our three-episode arc starts off with an examination of the  history of racism in healthcare, including the Tuskegee study. Along  with our regular hosts, we are joined with a panel of experts who bring  varied experiences to the discussion. Drs. Esplin, Jones, Robinson,  Spears and Misty Wilder join us on this important and necessary  dialogue. Our goal, as it always has been, is to open our hearts to our  community, and try to help in some small way. Conversation is a critical  part of this process, and learning from our past can help us to have a  better future for all our fellow human beings. Our  2nd episode, expected to record next week, will be conducted via  live stream on our social media sites.
