We want more that what online sites identify as “crazy directors,” those whose behavior has been considered violent, erratic, offensive, or extreme, such as Lars Von Trier, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Werner Herzog, Francis Coppola, Gaspar Noe, David O. Russell, Sam Peckinpah, and John Waters. We find the megalomaniac acting out of the supposed “mad genius” director inadequate.
