Episode 5: Work is Torture

from Your Thoughts at Work: Finding Wisdom Within · host Self Inquiry with Sarah

Have you ever had that “ugh” feeling on a Monday morning? Jessica, my most recent guest, regularly experienced it, to an extreme degree. It really felt to her like work was torture. Together we investigated where this belief originated, noticed how it affected her mood and her body, and looked at how her experience would change if she couldn’t have the belief. Without the thought that work is torture, she was able to notice the many benefits that she got from her “To Do” list. Even more illuminating was her realization that, thanks to work, she was able to find and express the incredible gifts to the world that she has within her. Her words carry an inspiring message for us all, that we can use to carry us through those times when we are feeling down about our professional lives. To learn about self inquiry and The Work of Byron Katie, the practice that inspired my podcast, please go to thework.com. You'll find free resouces to allow you to learn more about and practice self inquiry on your own.
