He received his PhD from Stanford, an M.A. in philosophy from Western Michigan University and a B.A. in mathematics from Carleton College.  He also edits the ​AI and Teaching Series for the Blog of the American Philosophical Association. His academic interests include issues related to epistemology and the philosophy of science.
