"The Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did to Sarah as he had promised." After twenty-five years of waiting, Isaac is born. Sarah laughed at the impossibility; now she laughs with joy. "God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh over me." The name means "he laughs"—and now the laughter has shifted from disbelief to delight. Abraham is a hundred years old.
