Episode 54 - It's Called Pooberty!

During our month of conversations with Kickass Kentucky Women, we're thrilled to welcome Shannon Phelps to help us navigate the waters of sexuality education. This episode comes with a content warning that it's not for children. Shannon is here to help parents as we figure out how to talk with children about everything from  body changes to nocturnal emissions to sexual consent to porn literacy. The takeaway: "communication fosters connection!" As awkward as parents and children feel when we talk about sex, we need to have these talks. We also discuss the role of sexuality education in communities and schools, and that's how we learn that Jenny's first experience with porn was right in the hallways of her high school. Finally, in an epic #relish, Shannon and Katie recall a tipsy trip to Philadelphia in the before times.
