 The Gig Life Podcast - Spotlight Jefferey Thomas Porcaro.  Born April 1, 1954 –  Jeff Porcaro was an American drummer, songwriter, and record producer. In a career that spanned more than 20 years, Porcaro was best known for his work with the band Toto, who had hits such as Africa, Rosanna, Hold the Line and Georgy Porgy.  Porcaro is one of the most recorded session musicians in history, working on hundreds of albums and thousands of sessions through the 70s till the 90s including Steely Dan Seals and Croft Boz Scaggs, Michael McDonald Richard Marx Madonna Pink Floyd Al Jarreau George Benson Randy Crawford Michael Jackson Leo Sayer The Bee Gees Chicago Barbara Streisand Don Henley Eric Clapton On August 5th 1992, Jeff Porcaro tragically passed away. He was 38 years old In 1993, he was posthumously inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame  TGLP Spotlight Series is where I (Stevie Taylor) and my friends sit down and talk about our favourite musicians.
