Episode 55: Randy Foye | 11-year NBA Veteran & Former Villanova All-American Subscribe on Apple Podcast | Google Play | Stitcher Rich Take On Sports Show Notes: Rich Spotlight: Randy Foye During March Madness there’s so much smack talk in the NBA locker rooms about whose alma maters will make a run in the tournament Currently, a free agent and retirement is not something he is considering right now Baseball is his best sport and only started playing basketball because he didn’t like wearing the tight pants with baseball Fred Hill was influential in his decision to attend Villanova University and head coach Jay Wright helped develop him into the man he is today His dad died in a motorcycle accident when he was 2 and his mom disappeared when he was 5 in 1989 He would learn in 2016 that his mom had died in 1989 but she was never identified and DNA tests confirmed her identity which allowed him to have closure on what had happened to his mom Born with a condition called Situs Inversus where his internal organs are reversed however has never had any issues with this condition Looks at his life and understands that he is truly an underdog and should have never been in the position that he’s in and basketball helped save his life Started his podcast “Outside Shot” after the presidential election with help from Noah Scheinmann sharing the inspirational stories of underdogs from all walks of life and Season 2 is about to be launched Words of Wisdom from Randy Foye: “Believe in the impossible. Impossible is nothing, it’s just a word.
