Episode 55: Thunderbird Divine

from The Distorted Dialogue Podcast · host Metal Institute of Thrashology

With a new 3 song single out titled "Live, Loud and Lucky", I thought it would be a great time to catch up with Erik Caplan, the frontman of the Philadelphia, doom, psych and stoner band Thunderbird Divine. It's always a great time to catch up with Erik. Erik Caplan from Philadelphia doom outfit Thunderbird Divine comes back again, to discuss their brand new live EP, "Live, Loud and Lucky" showcasing 3 of their songs performed live. Erik is always one of my favorite repeat guests, who has a big toolbox of talent, and an even bigger passion for music. I learned so much about the working and recording of live records, the length Erik goes to deliver such a quality product, and as always, the thousands of bands that Erik recommends, which are all great quality. Erik tells the story of how he suffered from a heat stroke, while recording, and honestly, the record is a hot ass piece of wax! From cool people in the industry, to what goes into Thunderbird Divine's sound. If you haven't heard this live effort, please do, and please go look up their prior studio album, Little Wars. It's a great mix of desert rock, doom, psych and so much more into a stand alone sound that the more you listen to, the more it sucks ya in. aplan from Philadelphia doom outfit Thunderbird Divine comes back again, to discuss their brand new live EP, "Live, Loud and Lucky" showcasing 3 of their songs performed live.
