Episode 56: Dreams

Luis and Angelo discuss the mysterious world of dreams.  The guys explore cutting-edge experiments from Japan, Stanford University, and the Maimonides Dream Laboratory, where scientists are attempting to peer into the sleeping mind, reconstruct dream imagery, communicate with dreamers in real time, and even influence the content of their dreams.  They break down the phenomenon of lucid dreaming, where dreamers become aware they are asleep and can control the dream itself, as well as the controversial research into dream telepathy and whether information can be transmitted from one person to another during sleep.  They also delve into the terrifying experience of sleep paralysis, including sightings of shadow people, the haunting Hat Man, and why people from different cultures often describe eerily similar encounters.  Along the way, they discuss recurring dreams, dream symbolism, how sleep shapes memory, and whether dreams are simply random brain activity or something far more meaningful.  Because every night when we close our eyes, we enter a world where the laws of reality no longer apply.
