Episode 57: Bridging Cyclists and Nature Enthusiasts with Milkweed Matters

from Murphology Podcast · host Murphology Podcast

This week we are connecting nature enthusiasts and cyclists through a nonprofit focused on pollinator habitat. For the last 5 or so years the gang at Milkweed Matters have set up booths on RAGBRAI in Iowa. They make seedballs made of dirt, clay and of course seeds and hand them out to cyclists who then toss them into appropriate places along the route. You may already know that the Milkweed plant is the only plant Monarchs lay their eggs on. I caught up with Founder and Chair of the Board Kelly to talk about how Milkweed Matters came to be, and what exactly they do for pollinators. www.milkweedmatters.org @monarchhabitatinitiative www.murphologypodcast.com
