Episode 57: 🧐 Facebook and Instagram Outage & Whistleblower Explained

Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger were all down yesterday around noon ET. The apps did not comeback online until around 7pm ET. This makes it the largest outage by the company since back in 2008. When asked about what caused the outage, a representative from Facebook said that they were experiencing server issues. Although they were able to get back up and running the same day, it didn't stop the stock from tanking 5% in the market. Also many famous users took to the social media app after the  bugs were fixed to vent there frustrations. All of this is in the shadow of a whistleblower named Frances Haugen who went to Congress and the Wall Street Journal to tell her story of how Facebook is toxic for younger users and made claims that they ignore policies that could help.
