He is a co-founder of the discipline of Positive Organizational Scholarship—the scientific study of what produces extraordinary performance in organizations and their employees.   He actively consults with business organizations on five continents, federal and military organizations, and health care and educational organizations. He received BS and MS degrees from Brigham Young University and MA and Ph.D. degrees from Yale University.
