In this episode we cover chapters 6 through 11, the remainder of part one, of The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. This is the first book of the Stormlight Archive series on the planet Roshar and a part of Sanderson’s Cosmere. In these chapters Kaladin suffers horrid abuse at the hands of the king’s army. Shallan suffers horrid flirting from the hands of an Ardent. These are some dark chapters, but both Shallan and Kaladin end part one on a positive note. Predictions: We will see Brightness Hashal again. Shallan killed her father with a shardblade. I’m not predicting that it was malicious, but that a shardblade was involved. Helaran (Shallan’s Oldest Brother) will resurface alive at somepoint. The chrysalises on the shattered plains has something to do with the stormlight binding magic. Spren attach themselves to people, and their deeds shape them. Powerful deeds (saving people, killing people?) can make them anthropomorphic. * The Radiants are similar to the Chandrian from The Kingkiller Chronicle. * Tallenal is the Broken One.
