Bartrand's old hightown estate is giving the new owners a hard time, what with the disembodied voices and furniture levitating. Varric recruits his favorite problem solver to search the house for any relics Bartrand may have left behind that would explain the haunting. After a thoroughly spooky investigation, Varric becomes more agitated to the point where he becomes aggressive with a maid just trying to escape. An ethereal golem takes her life and nearly takes ours, revealing the small piece of the idol that once drove Bartrand mad. Varric is convinced it would help Bartrand. How far do we go for friendship?
