Captain Leigh Pinard joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 2004 as an infantry soldier. After a brief stint with the Ceremonial Guard in Ottawa, she became a medic and worked in a variety of clinical roles. In 2007, she deployed to Afghanistan with the Counter-IED team. Upon her return, she joined the Skyhawks Parachute Demonstration Team for the 2009 season. Leigh completed her nursing degree at the University of Alberta to become a Nursing Officer while also training and competing internationally with the CAF CISM Triathlon team. She is currently the National Patient Safety Officer for Canadian Forces Health Services and was recognized by Esprit de Corps magazine in 2020 as one of the Top Women in Defence.  ----------  https://www.instagram.com/shootlikeagirlpodcast/  [email protected]
