Episode 6: The Father's Heart & Abuse - Part 1

In Episode Six of Today with the Williams Sibs, Jacob and Sarah enter a necessary and difficult conversation about abuse, sexual, emotional, spiritual, psychological, physical, and other forms of harm that violate a person’s dignity, safety, and trust. *Listener discretion is strongly advised, and anyone under the age of 18 should listen only with the supervision and guidance of a parent or trusted guardian.  We speak as individuals who have personally experienced its effects, walked alongside wounded people, served within environments where abuse has occurred, and witnessed the devastating consequences when those entrusted to protect others remain silent. In an age when survivors are calling institutions, including churches and denominational systems to acknowledge wrongdoing, pursue truth, and hold perpetrators and complicit leaders accountable, silence is no longer an acceptable response. Through biblical, psychological, and whole-person lenses, this episode examines how abuse wounds the heart, soul, mind, and strength of those affected, and how healing must honor every part of the person created in the image of God. Abuse never reflects the heart of the Father. God the Father sees the afflicted, Jesus Christ stands with the wounded and confronts those who exploit the vulnerable, and the Holy Spirit comforts, strengthens, and guides survivors toward truth and restoration. This episode is not about sensationalizing suffering or condemning people without truth and due process. It is a call to listen carefully, protect courageously, confront evil honestly, pursue accountability faithfully, and remind every survivor: what happened to you does not diminish your God-given worth, and the Lord is not indifferent to your pain.
