Episode 60: Patrick Holcomb

As with most writers, author and retired little leaguer Patrick Holcomb had a few lives before putting out his first novel, Where the Seams Meet. In this episode of The Written Scene, Patrick talks about the difficulty of elevator pitches, why writing fiction was a challenge, adding personal jokes in the editing process, telling the story he wanted to tell, not getting wrapped up in legacy but setting a good example for his kids, how kids don't really know their parents, being kind to yourself when writing and in most of life, celebrating little milestones along the way, putting in the time and effort to just imagine the story, how his best ideas came with running but he struggled during hip surgery recovery, the importance of finding a writing habit and sticking with it, and much more.
