Episode 60 - Snowpiercer *Listener's Choice*
from In The Queue - Film Conversations with Andrew and Phil · host Andrew and Phil
Amtrak, it ain't. In this wildly polarizing sci-fi thriller from Korean director Bong Joon Ho, the future is a pretty grim place. The earth has become uninhabitable and the remains of humanity are contained on a long, multi-car freight train that speeds around the globe in an infinite loop. In this world, you are either on the train or you are dead. Dystopia, folks. The unfortunate ones are in the tail of the train - they are routinely abused, maimed or killed. One such sort devises a plan to escape into the next car, and then continue until reaching the front. That's where the best savory snacks are (not proven). Curtis (Chris Evans) is the reluctant leader of the tail car coalition and "Snowpiercer" concerns itself with their violent journey through states of poverty to privilege, one car at a time. Some moviegoers have called the film: nonsense, full of plot holes and boring. Andrew and Phil are joined by Caitlin, who requested "Snowpiercer" for discussion.
