On Episode 60 of The Distorted Dialogue Podcast, Beijing guitarist and one man metal project, Jimmie Hong of Wheel of Time, stopped in to talk about his new album, Asymmetry, and his experiences with Kiko Loureiro's Mentorship Program, working with amazing musicians and so much more. Jimmie took part of Kiko's program which put him in touch with legendary musicians like Dream Theater's Derek Sheinan, Guitar virtuoso Tony MacAlpine, and host of other world class musicians. This helped not only his writing process, but gave him ideas and outlets to incorporate, making a truly great album. We discuss the incorporation of his newly acquired skills into this album, what went into making such a killer album, and even incorporating some traditional elements of Chinese music into the project.
